HELLO & WELCOME!

I’m Mieke, the person behind the lens. I was born in The Netherlands and grew up in France & England. My passion for (analog) photography started as a teenager during my ‘Fine Art Classes’ in high school in England in 1988.

People say the leading thread in my personal & professional life is my warm personality & ability to connect with people. This genuine care & interest in people led to a long career in Hotel Management from the Caribbean to the United States where I ended up living & working for almost 25 years.

After working in the hotel industry for 11 years I turned to my love for photography and started Mieke Snepvangers Photography in Los Angeles. I started as an assistant photographer for a studio that specialised in weddings & events. This soon led to my own projects & clients and for 9 years I was lucky to be able to photograph weddings and document the ‘love stories of others’ in the often luminous light of California!

The common thread in both my careers is my openness, eye for details and genuine care for people & service. I have an open minded & honest approach to photography. With patience, observation & the help of my lens I strive to capture pure, authentic & real connections of people, currently with a specialisation in families, children, women & non-profits.
